What is "Matereal"?

Prototyping is critical for the development of interactive robot applications that handle real-world tasks such as cooking and folding cloths according to the user instructions. However, prototyping of such applications is not easy for software programmers without prior knowledge of robotics.

Matereal is an effort to address the difficulty that is implemented as a toolkit for Java and Processing, whose APIs provide high-level abstractions of locomotion tasks on flat surface using 2-dimensional vector fields as well as functionality to dynamically construct activity diagrams from code for managing tasks.
